It’s pretty much an accident that I ended up working in this field. After I was made redundant from Next back in 2010, I returned to education at the ripe old age of 30. I completed a FETAC Level 5 in Business and Computers followed by a Level 6 in Business Studies. In the summer of 2012, I answered an ad in the local paper looking for a digital marketing intern in local tech startup Scurri. I got the job and started on a new path.
After a few years, my time in Scurri ended. At this stage, I knew I wanted to work in the industry but I also kind of fancied being my own boss.I knew what I had to do and I set myself a timeline. I started and finished my degree in Digital Design and Technology (with flying colours!).
In 2017, I set the wheels in motion to start my own business. It took me a while to think of a name. I wanted something that meant something to me, that I was connected to. I had an epiphany while out walking my dog Rua Bua and the name Rua Digital Media popped into my head. (Thankfully, I wasn’t walking Lily Pancakes that day…)
What is Rua Digital Media?
- web design
- social media management
- digital marketing
- branding
- and anything else I decide to turn my hand to!
